Day 1: Arrival in Dar es Salaam and transfer to Selous Game Reserve
Upon arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam, you will be met by a representative from the safari company who will transfer you to Selous Game Reserve, which is about a 4-hour drive from Dar es Salaam. On arrival, you will check in to your lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, you will go on a game drive in the reserve, where you will have the opportunity to see elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, and other wildlife.
Day 2: Selous Game Reserve
On this day, you will spend the whole day in Selous Game Reserve, exploring the different habitats and wildlife that call this reserve home. You can choose to go on a morning and an afternoon game drive, or alternatively, go on a walking safari or boat safari. Selous is known for its large elephant population, and you may also see hippos, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birdlife.
Day 3: Selous Game Reserve to Mikumi National Park
After breakfast, you will depart for Mikumi National Park, which is about a 5-hour drive from Selous Game Reserve. On arrival, you will check in to your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, you will go on a game drive in the park, where you will have the opportunity to see wildlife such as lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests.
Day 4: Mikumi National Park
On this day, you will spend the whole day in Mikumi National Park, exploring the park’s different ecosystems and wildlife. You can choose to go on a morning and an afternoon game drive or alternatively go on a walking safari or bird watching tour. Mikumi is home to the largest population of wild dogs in Tanzania, and you may also see buffaloes, zebras, impalas, and other antelopes.
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, you will depart Mikumi National Park and transfer back to Dar es Salaam, where you will catch your flight back home.
