Overview
A fascinating stroll through the exotic vegetation and fauna found above 2500 meters can be had on this trek through the Aberdare Mountains.Camping above the nearby forests, rare sightings of big game like elephant and buffalo, great bush buck, and other antelopes all contribute to making the experience even more unforgettable. Views of the Rift Valley are breathtaking.
The Great Rift Valley’s eastern border is bounded by the Aberdares (Nyandarua), which provide a view of it. Lesatima to the north and Kinangop to the south are the two major peaks. These mountain ranges are home to a variety of wildlife species that hide in the densely forested slopes and higher moorlands. With so many clean mountain streams, walking is always pleasant. Starting below the bamboo grove and ascending onto the moorlands, our stroll begins. Walking through the African bush is always dangerous, but we do not anticipate many up-close encounters with big game. But our well-trained and well-armed gameranger is familiar with the region and the wildlife’s routines.
